A navigation officer in the UK Merchant Navy, Steve served
on a number of vessel types, predominantly cable vessels and is a survivor of a piracy attack.
Focusing on maritime security, anti-piracy and ISPS compliance, he has worked for
a major P&I association, commercial organisations and global professional bodies. Steve is an industry commentator, publishing numerous books as well as reports and articles in both the
maritime and mainstream press. He has been a speaker on numerous occasions to the members of leading P&I Clubs,
shipowner associations, maritime institutions and a guest lecturer on maritime security at
Liverpool John Moores University.
